Her work develops the concepts of hyperthreat, entangled security and PLAN E, while also exploring defence culture, public discourse and institutional accountability.
About Elizabeth G. Boulton
Elizabeth G. Boulton, PhD, is a Melbourne-based independent writer and researcher. Her work brings together military strategy, literature, philosophy and environmental thinking to examine how narratives and perceptions of threat shape responses to security challenges.
A former Australian Army officer, Elizabeth has worked in humanitarian logistics in Africa and in climate research and communication at the Bureau of Meteorology. She completed her PhD at the Australian National University in 2020 and developed the concepts of hyperthreat and entangled security, alongside PLAN E, an ecologically centred grand strategy published by the US Marine Corps University Press in 2022. Her wider interests include defence culture, institutional accountability, public discourse, truth and independent voices.
